Your Host--Shamsun (Sam) Niazi has loved animals all of her life. Born a Sagittarian it’s in her blood. While her truest love is with lions and tigers and bears (oh my..) her ‘real life’ love is cats of the domestic variety. She shares her home with 5 feline friends and feeds a few barn cats to boot. Sam worked for a time at the Nanaimo & District SPCA where she acted as the volunteer co-ordinator. She also learned quite a bit about taking care of cats in a kennel like environment. Today she still volunteers her time and hotel to help many local cat rescue groups. If there's a family in need Sam will always do her best to help.
Ensuring for your kitties comfort is our ultimate goal. While we provide everything your cat will need during their stay (litter box, dishes, bedding , toys etc) there are some things from home that they may prefer. We will do our best to accomodate all of your particular kitties needs.
For A Sense of Security -- Cats can become stressed in any new environment.Have your cats favorite person bring their pillow case (or similar) as an extra layer of bedding. This way kitty will have a familiar scent to make him/her feel more comfortable. If kitty has a favorite toy or play thing or even a favorite brush or comb you can bring that along as well. It’s all about making Kitty as comfortable as possible.
For Feeding — Cats generally have very sensitive stomachs and do not always appreciate a change in their feeding routine.
At Kitty Korners we provide guests with Kirkland Signature dry cat food. It is a food that is easily digestible and known for not containing the harmful elements of corn that can so often bother a cat. We also feed a little bit of wet food twice daily. However, should you wish your cat to remain on it’s own diet we are more than happy to accommodate. Simply provide us with sufficient food for your kitty's stay.
